Chico California has a wonderful summer event that the Downtown Association puts on each year. It's the Summer Concert Series. A lot of cities do something like this, and I feel that these kinds of events are a great way to create a sense of community. The Summer Concerts are free and they book local bands from Chico and the surrounding area. This is an ongoing project for me.
I began shooting the concerts during the 2023 season and I am going to shoot for the 2024 season as well. I enjoy photographing these events a lot. The musicians are passionate about their art, and I truly love that. I see all of the passion, commitment, and talent they put into these performances. I hope you enjoy the images and if there is a similar event your city does I highly recommend attending some of them, if you have not already. I know that the artists would appreciate your support, and I sincerely believe you will find some great music that you have not heard before.
