Originally I intended to learn video. When I started, I felt that moving images spoke more to my experience in theater. It did not take me long to fall in love with the still image. There was just something about a photograph, especially a photograph of a person that just speaks to my soul.

When people ask, "How do you define your style?" it’s hard to pin down. My portraits blend a cinematic feel, rich colors, and sometimes moody black-and-white. In color, toning is key; in black-and-white, I love deep contrasts and inky blacks. I also appreciate a softer, desaturated look if the moment calls for it.

Rather than sticking to one formula, I focus on cultivating an artistic sensibility. I aim to be the photographer who can step into any situation—no matter how challenging—and create something that speaks and makes an impact. That’s what truly matters to me.
